Assisi Learning Centers (ALC) at Kancheepuram District, Tamil Nadu, India. 20 centers are established for the quality education and skill development of 650 rural children in Kancheepuram District. Children spent 2 to 3 hours of learning with education materials.

CHILDREN PARLIAMENT TRAINING
The project Animators, Tutors and Children parliament representatives from 20 villages participated in one day training program on children parliament at IDT unit. IDT with the support of Assisi Aid Projects Inc strengthened 25 Children Parliament sangams in Kancheepuram District. Children use these opportunities to develop leadership skills, build confidence, respect gender equity and understand their rights

Community level Gender Education
Women are active in discussing gender Issues in family and village. It was enriching moment where they realized their status. At the end of discussion they were motivated to be the champion of their own development.

Evening Study Center
Assisi Evening Study Centers in Kancheepuram districts encourages children to develop skills to be socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually competent in the society. It is fun learning center and each child is motivated to be a leader of their own formation.

family Couseling Programs
TOT training on Family Counselling to Assisi Aid Projects Staffs at TMSSS, Trichy. Staffs learned counselling techniques and enhanced their skills through various activities. Family counselling is an important component in Empowering Single Women Headed Families and strengthening family values, respectful relationships for the healthy development of children in families.

Assisi organised Gender Education for staffs and community representatives. At the end of the training the staff team prepared Action plan to address Gender issues and ensure Gender Equity in target villages.

Language Class
Language class for rural children in Kancheepuram district. IDT with the support of Assisi Aid Projects continued to initiate skill development activities for the rural children in Kancheepuram District. Children from 20 villages use this opportunity to develop their skills, leadership qualities and personal traits. The languages classes are conducted in weekends by a trained teacher. It is a 3 month certified course for each group of students and the target of the year is 150 students .Thanks to Assisi Aid Projects Inc for the support.

Legal Aid Programs
Legal Aid Awareness camp was jointly organised by Block Level Legal Aid Unit and IDT –Assisi at Vadanallur, Kancheepuram District, and Tamil Nadu on 24th June 2016. Honourable Judge, Lawyers, Women representatives from Single Women headed support groups, Community representatives and staffs participated in this camp

Legal Awareness Program for women
Legal Rights Training to Single women headed families at Kancheepuram district. Assisi Aid projects Inc supports for the livelihood enhancement of Single women headed families in Kancheepuram, Trichy, Perambalur and Ariyalur districts in Tamil Nadu, India. 1156 Single women headed families (widows, Spinsters and deserted) get benefits from this program.
To ensure their safety living and to regain their rights, Free Legal Aid Center was opened at Lalgudi, Trichy districts.

Livelihood Program for women
IDT – PSSS units in Tamil Nadu aims to improve the financial independence of 1156 single women-headed families in 35 rural villages in four districts (Perambalur, Ariyalur, Trichy and Kancheepuram) in Tamil Nadu. It is a holistic women empowerment program and promotes women owned business. During this month 40 women from Single women headed families have received financial aid to strengthen small business.
Woman started business like organic farm, Breakfast center, home gardens, Saree selling, goat rearing, dry fish vending, sob oil selling and rice flour units.
Mrs.Sagunthala from Kattiyampandal village, Kancheepuram district started petty shop with the support of lGP loan.
Thanks to Assisi Aid Projects Inc for supporting women empowerment programs in Tamil Nadu. Particularly the aid empowers widows, separated woman, spinsters and their families.

ORGANIC TRAINING PROGRAM
Organic Farming Training to women in Kancheepuram district. Women from Single Women headed families were trained on organic farming by an expert Mr.Sivapragasam. They were trained on Vermicompost pit and Panchakaviya. As a result 7 women have started organic farming as an Income Generating Programs

Skill training to tutors by an expert. The tutors from 20 evening study centers were trained to use the teaching materials. IDT with the support of Assisi Aid Projects Inc involved in integrated quality education program for 650 rural children in Kancheepuram District.

STATE LEVEL CHILDREN PARLIAMENT FOURM MEET
Ms.Binokulin.J.J an Assisi children parliament member from Perunkozhi village, Kancheepuram District was elected as Home Minister for State Level Children Parliament Federation and Ms.Ananthi an Assisi Children parliament member from Kattiyampandal village, Kancheepuram District was elected as Secretary for State Level Finance Minister.
Both of them took pledge infornt of Honourable Member Mr. Austin. A Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA), Government of Tamil Nadu.
Ms.Benokulin presented State Level Federation resolution and planned to take this for the consent of State Government.
Key focus of resolutions:
-Child protection policy education to all children through trainings or workshops
-Good and bad touch education to all children and Parents
-Regular transport service for school going children
The Good and bad touch education of Assisi Aid Projects was the highlight in the meeting. IDT with the support of Assisi Aid Projects continues to support the leadership and quality education of 650 children in Kancheepuram District.

STATE LEVEL WIDOWS FEDERATION MEET
Mr.Sampath, the Project officer from IDT and Ms.Mercy, The project coordinator from PSSS along with community members have taken part in State Level Widows Federation Consultation meeting at Trichy. Special thanks to Kalangarai NGO for organizing this initiative.
IDT and PSSS have taken effort to support the livelihood opportunities of 1156 single women headed families in Perambalur, Ariyalur, Trichy and Kancheepuram districts in Tamil Nadu. This year nearly 100 widows are given opportunities to take up small business and the differently abled persons are given first priority in all programs. Street Theater Group
Assisi Street Theatre Group. Mr.Allimuthu an Assisi - evening study center Tutor lead Assisi Street Theatre group at Kancheepuram district with team of youngsters. They have taken intensive training from PUTHAR KALAIKUZHU – Folk Arts team at Vedanthangal village, Kancheepuram district. The team continue to involve in awareness programs in target villages.

Donor Project Visit
Ms.Karen, CEO Assisi Aid Projects Inc visited India projects from 7th to 12th October 2016. She visited community based organizations such as Women Support Groups and Children study centers. She trained Unit Heads and staffs on DFAT policies and provided necessary guidelines to strengthen organasisation.
